How to Check NECO 2020 Oct/Nov Result

The National Examination Council (NECO) has released the results of the 2020 Senior School Certificate Examination. The council made the announcement on Wednesday at its headquarters in Minna, Niger State. Recall that the exams had held in various schools across the country between 5th November and 28th December 2020.

NECO Registrar, Prof. Godswill Obioma disclosed that the success rate in last year’s examination stood at 73.89%. While giving the breakdown of the NECO 2020 results, he revealed that 984,101 candidates made at least five credits in subjects including English Language and Mathematics. According to Obioma, the figure represented a 2.3% increase compared to the 2019 June/July NECO SSCE results.

The registrar said up to 1,221,447 candidates - 665,830 males and 555,617 females, registered for the examination.

Due to the #EndSARS protests which started in early October, a total of 233,000 candidates were prevented from taking the NECO examination in the following states: Abia, Enugu, Edo, River, Ondo, Ekiti, Osun, Lagos, Oyo, Kano, Ogun and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Obioma, however, stated that the affected candidates would be able to take the NECO examination between Monday February 1 and Wednesday March 3 2021.

“We wish to inform the general public that the council has made specific arrangements for those candidates who missed some papers due to the #EndSARS protest in those states. The affected candidates will now sit for those papers missed during the forthcoming 2020 SSCE (external) scheduled from Monday February 1 to Wednesday March 3, 2021.”

Chemistry Practical, Economics, Further Mathematics, Technological Drawing, Food and Nutrition were among the subjects affected by the #EndSARS protests.
